How To Tackle A Demon

"You know what old Jack Burton always says at a time like this?"
"Who?"
"Jack Burton- me. I always say, what the hell."
- Jack Burton before attacking 2,000 year old chinese demon Lo Pan, Big Trouble in Little China

Again, the suspense! Did he survive? And what happened to the demon ? (hard to get rid of those pesky demons.) I'm glad there are no demons where I live --except every night on TV (my kids are anime addicts).

He throw his knife at Lo Pan and missed. Lo Pan picked it up, examined it, nodded approval, than tossed it back at Jack with the speed of lightning. In an instant Jack caught it, tossed it back and hit the demon right between the eyes, killing him dead. His friends looked at him stunned. He shrugged and said, "All in the reflexes".

So that's that story. By the way, how old are your kids?

That Jack had some reflexes!

My son is going on 15--he watches anime cartoons till 2 AM on the cable cartoon channels.
My daughter is 18--she is learning Japanese so she can read anime books, and can understand some of the movies on the internet. She dresses (and looks) like an anime doll. Wonder how that will go over in engineering school next year?

I have a good friend from college who was first introduced to the Japanese language through anime when he was young. Now he is studying to get his Phd in Japanese language and culture in Tokyo!

Anyways, I thought that was just an interesting little tidbit about how anime is enriching people's lives :)
